History
     The  Thai  Electronic  Publishing  Club  was  formed  by  The  McIntosh  users,  university’s  honor  lectures  with many  supports  from  faculty  of  Science,  Chulalongkorn  University,  printing  industry  and  The Federation of Thai Industries.  The  official  establishment  was  on  September  5,  1993  at  Chulalongkorn  University  with  the  objective  to  facilitate  country’s  electronic  editorial  manuscript.

Past  Performance

  • DTP  in  the  printing  process  training.
  • Initiate  color  separation  and  how  to  use  in  Thailand  by  international  lectures.
  • Initiate  testing  and  introduce  now-to transfer data  from  camera’s  files
  • New  Thai  fonts  with  Unicode  encoding  contest  and user’s free – trail program.
  • Create  standard  PDF / X  file  building  guideline that transferable  for  per – press process

Activities  Plans  2007 – 2008

1.  Raise the  pre – press  and press standardized to  electronic  system.

-  Font’s  standard.
-  Participated  the  Font  design  contest.  The  Intellectual  properties  division  of  Thailand.
-  Promote  Thai  font  development.
-  Improve  10  Thai  fonts  for  correctness  and  ease  of  use.
-  Pre – print’s  file  transferred  standardized.
-  Embarked  the  Guideline  V.2  for  file  creation  under  window  applications.
-  Set  color  standard  for  printing  design
-  Introduced  RGB  process  for  pre – press.
-  Studied  and  introduced  proper  file  preparations  for  the  12647  standard  printing  process.

2.  Human  resources  development 

-  Off –the – job  training  courses  for  electronic  printing  in  coordinating  with  education  Institute
-  Collaborate  education  institutes  for  printing  preparations  research  and  experiment  by  students
-  Pre – press  and  digital  printing  academic  seminar.
