Objectives
- To coordinate the related organizations in promoting the production and selling high quality books on higher scale.
- To share knowledge, ideas, experiences and solving problems in order to benefit the whole industry, coordinating with group leaders and society development.
- To be the focal point of association, organization or institutes of domestic and international publishing and bookselling.
- To narmonize mutual facilitations and fair – benefits among members.
- To be the center of academic members with professional contributions.
- To be the business consultants in patenting and selling to international market for members.
- To be the representative of opinions, key issue submitter to the government or other organizations concerning publishing bookselling without political agenda.
- To serve useful benefit information that promote all ages education.
- To promote Thai Society toward Learning by Reading.

Background History
The Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand was formed develop The Thai publisher to pair with the developed countries by integrating the inforcement on business professional ethic and moral intentions
In 1959, group of students consisted fof Mr. Apai Jantarimom, M.L. Manij Chumsai and Mr. Kumton Satirakul (The then the council of teacher Association) were behold and argued that country education problem was stunted by publisher development. M.L. Manij Chumsai was volunteered as to be of the government and private centric. He invited Mr. Jit Praepamich, Owner of Praepitaya publisher and Mr. Chai Jitidecharak, owner of Surivong bookcenter to imitated the association.
Past Performances
- Organized 34 times of The National International books and the week of national book.
- Arrange 10 times of The National Book Fair
- Organized 9 times of The Youth’s Book Festival
- Driving Thai’s reading culture activation continuously
- Introduced Thai books internationally

About the Thai Publishing Industry 2005
The year 2005 continued to be another successful
year for Thai Publishing industry. Based on the data
gathering from registered members of the Publishers
and Booksellers Association of Thailand, the estimated
market value of trade book sales in 2005 was around
16.20 billion baht (approximately 405 million USD at the
ROE of 40 baht/USD). This figure shows the growth rate
